How To Use Your Concealer Brush Like a Pro?

Concealer Brush Techniques

There are many makeup brush tips and tricks to help you achieve a flawless finish. Here are five steps to a flawless finish.

Step One

Before you can apply concealer, you should prep your skin. Using moisturizer or primer will help your makeup go on smoothly and stay in place all day.

Step Two

The other important step before the concealer is applying your foundation. You should apply foundation first to even out your complexion as much as possible. After foundation, you will be able to identify the areas that need a little more coverage.

Step Three

If you use a color-correcting concealer, use your concealer brush to apply it. Choose a denser brush and use dabbing motions to apply the concealer in the concentrated area.

Step Four

Use a concealer that matches your skin tone and go over any color corrector or areas you see imperfections peeking through. A little goes a long way, so start with a small amount on your brush and build up the coverage as needed.

No matter what type of concealer brush you use, try not to drag the concealer around. You want to concentrate the coverage in one area by using circular and tapping motions. If you use a dragging motion, you will just be moving the concealer around, and you won’t get the coverage you’re looking to achieve.

Step Five

Once you have a flawless finish, apply a small amount of translucent powder to lock in the coverage all day.

Once you complete all five steps, you should have the perfect base to apply the rest of your makeup on top of!

Concealer Brush Tips and Tricks

Once you get the basic concealer brush techniques down, you can implement a few more tips.

Use It To Apply Eye Primer

You can use your concealer brushes for more than just concealer. Try applying your eyeshadow primer with a small concealer brush. It will allow you to cover the corners of your lids that can be hard to reach when using your finger.

Use It To Fix Makeup Mistakes

Everyone has messed up some part of their makeup at some point or another. Whether it’s from drawing your eyebrow pencil a little too high or getting lipstick outside the lines, a concealer brush can help you clean up the lines. Trace around your brows or lips with a small amount of concealer on a small brush, and no one will ever know.

Clean Your Concealer Brushes

You should clean your concealer brushes just like you do your other makeup tools. You want to remove the makeup and dirt that collects on them regularly. Otherwise, your brushes could negatively affect your skin, and you may have a lot more to conceal.

Dirty makeup brushes can irritate your skin and spread harmful bacteria around. You can end up with clogged pores and acne, or even an infection. To keep your makeup brushes bacteria-free and protect your skin, wash them every seven to ten days.

Rinse the ends of your brushes in warm, soapy water or a makeup brush cleanser. Use gentle circular motions against your hand or on the bottom of the bowl to help remove the makeup. Try not to emerge the whole brush in water since this can dissolve the glue holding the bristles together. After, rinse them under the faucet and then squeeze the excess water out. Finally, place them on a towel to dry.
